How can I go to the space?

You go to space in a rocket, and maybe one day you can train to be an astronaut!

Space starts just above the sky, where the air runs out. To get there, people use a rocket. A rocket is a big machine that pushes very hard to fly up fast.

Only trained people called astronauts can fly on a rocket today. They study science and stay very fit. They train for many years before they fly.

Some companies now let regular people pay for a short space trip. It is still very expensive and rare. Maybe when you grow up, more people will get to go!

Quick facts

  • A rocket carries people into space.
  • Astronauts train for many years before they fly.
  • Gravity is the pull that keeps us on the ground.
  • The space station flies around Earth again and again.
  • Some people can now buy a short trip to space.
