What does a computer engineer do?
A computer engineer is someone who designs, builds, and fixes the parts and programs inside computers.
A computer engineer understands both the hardware inside a computer and the software that runs it. They might design a computer's processor, build new chips for phones, or program the brain of a robot.
These engineers love solving problems. For example, they find out why a game console is running slowly and fix it. Or they design a small, powerful circuit for a new smartwatch.
Most computer engineers work in teams. One person designs the hardware, another writes the program to run it, and someone else tests to make sure everything works properly.
