Why is maths important?

Maths is important because it is used everywhere in life for counting, measuring and thinking.

When you work out how many hours you slept, count your change at the shop, or add up points in a game, you are using maths. Maths is not just about numbers; it teaches you to solve problems and think clearly.

Engineers use maths to build bridges, doctors use it to work out the right amount of medicine, and game designers use it to write the rules of a game. Even space rockets use maths to fly in the right direction.

Learning maths makes your brain stronger. Like solving a puzzle, maths makes you patient and careful. That is why maths helps you both in everyday life and in the jobs you might choose when you grow up.

Where Did Numbers Come From?

Thousands of years ago, people invented numbers to count their sheep and grain. Over time, these numbers grew into the maths we use today.

🚀

Maths and Space

Very careful maths calculations help rockets fly to the Moon or Mars. Even a small mistake can send a rocket off course.

Maths and Games

The way characters move, and how points and maps work in computer games, all use maths formulas. Anyone who wants to make games needs to know maths.

🧠

Exercise for the Brain

Solving maths problems is like exercise for your brain. The more you practise, the stronger your thinking becomes.
