What subjects should I be good at to become a doctor?
To become a doctor, you mostly need to be good at Science (Biology, Chemistry) and Maths.
Doctors know our bodies very well so they can make sick people better. That is why Science is so important at school, because that is where we learn how our bodies work. Chemistry is important too, because it helps us understand how medicines work inside the body.
Maths helps doctors as well. Doctors work with numbers when they measure amounts of medicine and read test results. Do not forget English lessons either, because doctors need to talk well with their patients and other doctors, and everyone must be able to understand what they write.
Becoming a doctor takes a long time. First you finish secondary school, then you go to medical school at university. There you study for six more years. So working hard at your lessons and staying curious now is a great way to start.
