Why do we take exams?
Exams are little checks to see what we have learned.
At school, we learn new things every day: maths, reading, science and more. Our teacher wants to know how much of this has stuck in our heads. An exam is a bit like looking in a mirror; it shows us what we have learned.
An exam is not really there to punish us, but to help us. If we did not understand something well, an exam helps us notice this early. Then we can study that topic again and learn it better.
Exams also help us get to know ourselves. We see which subjects we are strong at, and which ones need more work. This helps us become a better student.
Quick facts
- Exams are done to check the things we have learned.
- An exam result shows us which subject we need to study more.
- Studying again and again makes information stay in the brain.
- A grade is a sign of how well we did, but it does not fully show how clever we are.
- Exam worries are normal and can be made smaller by preparing well.
