Ask anything.

What should I do when I don't understand something?

Don't be afraid to ask when you don't understand, try again, and learn in different ways.

It's not a bad thing when you don't understand something. Everyone doesn't understand things sometimes, even grown-ups! What matters is noticing that you don't understand, and doing something about it.

First, you can stop and think again. Sometimes reading or listening to a sentence or a topic a second time helps a lot. If you still don't understand, you can ask a teacher, someone in your family, or a friend. Asking questions makes you look smart, because it shows you want to learn.

Sometimes trying something with a picture, a game, or objects around you makes it easier to understand. For example, you can solve a maths problem by counting apples or pencils. You might not understand something new the first time, and that's normal. Your brain is like a muscle too — it gets stronger the more it works.
